1.
You may have tangible wealth untold caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be...I had a mother who read to me. |

2. In the
cityhorizon to horizon all one can see is what is man made. In the country
horizon to horizon all one can see is what God has made.

3. Irish
welcome
Come in
the evening come in the morning come when expected come without warning
thousands of welcomes you'll find here before you and the oftener you
come the more we'll adore you
|

4. Children
Learn What They Live
If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn. If children
live with hostility, they learn to fight. If children live with ridicule,
they learn to be shy. If children live with shame, they learn to feel
guilty. If children live with tolerance, they learn to be patient. If
children live with encouragement, they learn confidence. If children
live with praise, they learn to appreciate. If children live with fairness,
they learn justice. If children live with security, they learn to have
faith. If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with acceptance and friendship, they learn to find
love in the world.

5. Excuse
this House
Some houses try to hide the fact that children shelter there Ours boasts
of it openly the signs are everywhere
For smears are onthe windows little smudges on the door, I should apologize,
I guess, for toys strewn on the floor. But I sat down with the children
and we laughed and played and read and if the doorbell doesn't shine,
their eyes will shine instead. For when, at times, i'm forced to choose
the one job or the other, I want to be a housewife but first i'll be
a mother.

6. The
reason why the Irish fight among themselves is that they are unable
to find any other worthy adversaries
|

7. Make
new friends, but keep the old; those are silver, these are gold. New-made
friendships, like new wine age will mellow and refine Friendships that
have stood the test-time and change are surely best; brow may wrinkle,
hair grow gray friendship never knows decay for mid old friends, tried
and true, once more we our youth renew. But old friends, alas! may die,
new friends must their place supply. Cherish friendship in your breast-
new is good, but old is best; make new friends, but keep the old those
are silver, these are gold.

8. Home
Is where you can be silent and still be heard. Where you can ask and
find out who you are. Where people laugh with you about yourself. Where
sorrow is divided and joy is multiplied. Where we share and love and
grow.
